A performance of an exhilarating outspokenness in which Marie-Caroline Hominal creates a mad universe, nevertheless very carefully arranged, inspired by both music hall and voodoo - the vodka shots served at the end of the performance complete this perfectly thrilling experience

In Taxi-Dancers, the French-speaking Swiss dancer and choreographer Marie-Caroline Hominal returns to the origins of the Taxi Dance Halls, in the America of the roaring twenties, where young people were paid as dance partners on a dance-by-dance basis… The bodies of the three dancers are held on a threshold, between past and present, between our most profound intimacy and the eternally unknown body of the other, between the thrill of the forbidden and the discreet elegance of nameless or disavowed seduction. (Theatre Vidy)

Premiered at Théâtre de Vidy Lausanne, from May 20th to 29th.
